We live close to Spean Bridge and I can never just pass it by without feeling a pang of sadness and pride. Scotland is an amazing place to live, wild and beautiful. I’ve just found your blog, my son has complex additional needs and has been put on a gf/cf diet so I’m looking forward to reading some of you recipes! Beautiful photography x

Lauren you’ve done a fantastic job capturing the beauty of Scotland – in your pictures and your words. Pete and I went to Scotland on our honeymoon and I truly felt like I could live there. Our first stop was…Largs! Isn’t that so funny? We stayed there for 4 days, went to the island on the ferry (I have a pic of us on that ferry!), we ate ice cream, had amazing fish and chips (pre-celiac diagnosis!) and fell in love with lovely little Largs. It was bursting with colour and beauty, just as you described. Thanks for taking us back there with this post. xo

Lauren, what a wonderful adventure you had! There is something very grounding about discovering your family’s roots and hearing the stories about people who lived generations ago, but faced very real problems. Great post!
