Wow, I spent a whole paragraph talking about 6 months and I didn't even say what it was for. Can you tell I'm excited? In case you were wondering, this is 6 *whole* months gluten free, as a wonderful healthy (I'm getting there...) amazing Celiac.
I think that I will celebrate, even internally, every month gluten free as it is a triumph and a wonderful step. If you were to read about how I felt 6 months ago compared to how I feel now, you would be happy too. Maybe you are, I hope so, because this rocks. So much.
xoxo
A Very Happy Lauren

Congratulations! That is great!
Menehune - Thanks!
That is awesome! I'm only 3 months in, and feeling so much better (most days). Seem to have more joint pain the last while though, which shouldn't be happening, I'm only 31. :P Congrats on your 6 months though, it's not THAT hard, eh? Just stinks when you can't eat out. I found a GREAT bread recipe though (it's on my blog), so I don't feel I'm lacking that way. :)
AWESOME!! Congrats, and enjoy your new found health :) Great post!
My sister was just diagnosed with gluten and dairy allergies (so far) - there is such an awesome community out there with a wealth of so much yummy food to share, it's just awesome :)
Jeanine - Thanks, and Congrats! 3 months is awesome! And no, it's not that hard, especially once you fall into a routine. But remember that you can eat out, just a lot more carefully! Ooo. I like bread. I'll check it out!
Madcapcupcake - Thanks! Yeah, your sister will have tons of resources, especially the GFCF blogs!
Congratulations! My sister-in-law just found out she is allergic to wheat and corn and she's really strugggling. It sounds like you're doing great!
You commented on my blog that you think I should eat gluten and get tested.
I was wondering what you mean when you say celiac can affect other things.
I would like to get tested, but my mom is apprehensive. It may be because of the cost. (lousy health insurance, I live in 'merica. ha.)
I have been talking to her about it, but if she won't let me, I guess the best I can do is just give gf a shot and see how it goes.
My doctor wants to put me on birth control for my period, but I am not to keen on fixing the symptoms and not hitting at the root of the problem.
I don't think a person who eats healthy and weighs enough should have absolutely no period for 2.5 years.
What prompted you (or your doctor) to get you tested?
Congratulations Lauren - here's to a happy, healthy future.
Hi Lauren- Congrats on 6 months gluten free. A friend of mine is/has celiac so I will be stopping by in the future for some recipe ideas for next time I have her over.
Barbara Bakes - Yeah, it can be really tough at first, but as you get into it, it gets better. However, allergies can be very different than autoimmune issues, but I wish her well!!
Herbivore - Take it slow, you'll get there. (I emailed you...)
Cakelaw - Cheers to that!
Jen - Thanks! I know how wonderful it is when a non-celiac friend offers to cook for you, so I hope that I can help!
